I really like Marty's style and however this goes, I will keep learning from him, but I might need to have the technically correct information on hand. The whole reason I'm here is because I did that with Marty in the first place. What I need to know is, should I spring for a time sensitive heavily discounted subscription to Ultimate Guitar to get official tabs? How 'official' are they? Official to Ultimate Guitar, or official to the band? This Enter Sandman one says it was submitted by Metallica, but this is the internet and I don't like to take things at face value. I just took his word for it at first because his Smoke on the Water main riff tutorial shows the hacky beginner way and the real way, so I assumed he teaches the true tabs in all his videos I would have to agree yes look around to make sure its correct, marty gets most right but of corse you are going to get the odd one here or there wrong, but for this one this is correct, its the same tab as in the metallica greatest hits guitar tab book :)Īnd some less objective but still valid defences.īut I looked up some 'official' tabs, and turns out the first guy was right, or so it seems. They sound about right but if you search other how to's on you tube or watch the original performer you can see that Marty is playing the song wrong.
You have to be careful with Martys lessons. I'm still on Enter Sandman, but I am practicing other things for the sake of variety.

Hi, I've been learning from Marty for some time now (months, but maybe like 8 or so hours of practice because I'm in an Asian college but excuses aren't the point of this post) and I just saw a comment that he's teaching based on how it sounds and now how to actually play the song.
